If you still don’t get why this is the biggest show in the continent, then I don’t know what will help you get it, maybe you should’ve attended and see it yourself but don’t worry; we were there for you. Movie mart was lucky enough to once again, get an invite to this trade show. It’s an incredible opportunity that should be grabbed with both hands and of course, we wouldn’t miss it for anything as it only takes place once, in every two years. This is where the tech-savvy gurus meet to showcase and present the latest technologies and trends to southern Africa’s broadcast and film sector and rapidly-growing live event and AV system integration industries.
This massive show provides a platform for experts from the broadcast, film and AV; production and post-production; animation and new media; studio and recording; pro DJ and more an opportunity to meet and network, engage and to discover new trends, solutions and service providers and assess top technologies from manufacturers and distributors locally and around the world; in an environment that allows for hands-on testing, live demos and product shoot-outs, a conference and extensive networking opportunities for three days.
In 2013, Media Tech Africa trade show managed to attract approximately 7000 visitors over the three-day expo. 136 companies who exhibited managed to collectively represent 680 different brands.
We don’t have the statistics for this year’s show yet, but one thing we can tell you is that; it was bigger and better. This is actually coming from the exhibitor that won a gold award for the best stand in 2013. This year, we managed to scoop a silver award for our stand. Tell you what, we didn’t even expect that, there were so many great stands there, and that’s why we can never be more grateful for this.
We didn’t disappoint in showcasing our stuff. From the Arri Alexa Mini Camera, Arri skypanel lights, to Dedolight Ledrama light and Engenieux Lenses, we were on our feet for 3 days. Do check out the stuff that we showcased on our gallery.
